JAGADANANDA KARINI
Imagine the sum of the total bliss of the universe
So much beyond words, in prose or in verse
Imagine further that it is contagious
Gods and demons called it prodigious
Who would not wish to taste?
There is no life and no time to waste.
So mystical poets have spared no prowess
In their attempts to praise the Goddess.
They describe a world madly in love
But few can drink the honey from above.
Hence we look where we can reach
And not where we can find it.
We miss the heavens and land lower
Pleasure and pain visit the lover.
The bees buzz around the flower
The moth flies into the flame
Who would you choose to blame?
Who has time to hate
When love is our fate?
