TALK TO THE YUVA

One message, you may not know that, but some of your parents, they were a bit worried because Mother has celebrated Her 80th birthday and She wasn’t feeling well. After Her 80th birthday She didn’t come to the Sahasrara Puja. So there was a period where we were a little concerned because so much in Sahaj is just rotating around our Mother, so that, if She doesn’t come, you know, what will happen? And actually, the experience that Radha just described, we had it on the Sahasrara Puja, in Cabella, because Mother didn’t come, than the throats were a bit, you know, dry, because She is in the castle but She doesn’t come. But then the whole thing unfolded in such a manner that clearly the message Mother wanted us to understand is that She is in fact here with us. See, Christ said, if a few of you meet in My name, I shall be among them. And it’s that. So Canajoharie, Mother was there, because of two things – devotion, they did everything as if Mother was coming, they nailed every piece of silk like if She was going to the bathroom, everything. You know, they didn’t take the shortcut, “Well, She isn’t here, so I don’t need to put up a curtain.” Number one, so there was devotion. And then there was the dynamism of the togetherness of the collectivity, you see. And this is America so it’s powerful.
So with the combination of these two things - devotion and dynamism - they invited, they actually invited the deities. And if we would have the eyes to see, like Arjuna had the eyes to see the Virata, we would have seen that the deities were there. They couldn’t see the deities but they could feel. And this is now the art of Sahaj. The dimension of Sahaj is collectivity. The art of Sahaj is not that you achieve something, because if you achieve something then you have ego. You know, if I achieve something then I’m going to have an ego. But if I connect, something is achieved by my connection. I cannot have an ego because I haven’t done it. But I can have gratitude. Gratitude because I am connected and it works, and you have all had some experiences like that. Little things, where you feel connected and something works. Even if it is small, this is what Sahaj is. Sahaj is connecting, into the wheel.
See you have two forces, or you have two realities in the physical world: particles and waves. Some of you are scientists; matter is made of particles and waves. And the whole universe is made out of particles and waves. So you have to consider yourselves as particles, and wave is love. So see, everything is energy, and God is energy, but the highest form of energy is love. So, a marriage that works is a marriage is a marriage where husband and wife give each other’s energy, and not a marriage where each sucks each other’s energy away and it’s a drag. And after some time, you know, you wake up, have breakfast, like Jack Nicholson, you know, in the role of Mr. Smith, you stare at your wife and you say, “God, what am I doing with this old woman?” And then you try to find some fresher meat somewhere else, you know. So, not only in a movie, but in real life, that’s what they do. Because they get bored. ed note: 2002 movie About Schmidt
But in Sahaj you don’t get bored. You hear sometimes about marriages, which don’t work. There are quite a few marriages, which may not work. But technically speaking, you have an amazing proportion of successful marriages in Sahaja Yoga, compared to the civil society. It’s very successful actually. And with the Sahaj marriages that work, the basic thing is that you are not bored. I would hate to be bored.
I told it to Shri Mataji when I came to her for the first time.
Shri Mataji asked me: ‘What are you afraid of?’
I said, ‘Mother, I’m afraid of being bored.’ So She made sure that Sahaja Yoga would be, you know, not a sort of picnic for me. It was something else, I didn’t get bored. But I didn’t get bored in my marriage either, as many other marriages in Sahaj as well. And it’s nothing that we do, it’s nothing that I do or my wife does, or, other couples, which are Sahaj, it’s nothing that they do. It’s just the blessing of Lord Ganesha that the energy flows, ok? See why you should keep Him pleased?
You have two types of energy in the world. You have on one hand love, and on the other hand the contrary of love, you have hate. Then you can look at all feelings and you know, on this side of love you have loyalty, respect, companionship, affection, compassion, ok? On the other side you have aggressivity, jealousy, resentment, inability to forgive, ok? Now all of us we have this in ourselves. You know, if you can’t forgive, it’s all right. If you are resentful, it’s all right. If you are jealous, it’s all right. As long as you can see it… Try to see where the problem is. Because you are more than all that and you can kick it out. But basically that’s what it is, and you know, people in the workplace, they suffer so much, because of jealousy, because of turf battles, because the power of hate is working. It’s very simple actually. Ok?
Question – could you elaborate on collective consciousness?
Collective consciousness… well, the power of collective consciousness is what differentiates Shri Mataji from the previous incarnations. Because previous incarnations might have given Realization, people got Realization before. But Shri Mataji creates a collective being and that is new. That is the change. So, I think that when you heard Radha speaking about the Krishna festival in the USA, you have a sense of what the collective consciousness is. It’s the friendship, it’s the joy, it’s the power, it’s the energy, and it works out the needs, it fulfils, and it does a number of things we are not aware of. This is what we know of it. But it’s the force of unity. It’s as if the electrons start moving in one direction, and then it creates a different pattern. And in The Advent, I wrote that the collective consciousness of the Sahaja Yogis is the horse of Shri Kalki. Somehow Shri Mataji didn’t strike it out, so it must be right because She checked the book. So it doesn’t mean we need to destroy, She has other people than us to do that. We are not supposed to destroy anything. We are not supposed to be nasty with anybody. We are not the warriors of the Goddess. Not in that sense. Because we just need to be kind. That’s our job. Collective consciousness is the big mystery of Sahaja Yoga because that is what is going to transform society and society is not yet transformed. There is a huge work ahead and how it is going to unfold, I have no idea. And you’ll be there longer than me. Maybe I’ll be a little baby in the lap of, I won’t say one of you but… See, these things are beyond me. There is still a lot to do. There is work for you. I think you are all very special because you are the first generation born in Sahaj. And I think that each of you here, and the Yuva Shakti elsewhere, I think that you have a special place in history if you want to abide by it. It’s a lot to do.
We had a very interesting life, but as Alan Wherry reminded in an email about Canajoharie, quoting something that was said, we are the founding stones, so the founding stones need to be solid but you don’t see them because they are buried. What you see are the stones of the façade, of the palace, of the walls, and you are starting to be that. You are starting to manifest. You may just manifest by being gentle, being sweet, being compassionate, being a nice mother, nice wife, bringing into this world wonderful realized kids, and if you do that, there is nothing nobler, or you may become an ambassador or something, I don’t care. God doesn’t care. Or you may be a great cook, and that’s good also. Whatever you do, it doesn’t matter, just do it well.
Question – Can you say something about the role of brothers and sisters, such as the Shakti power and whatever the boys are supposed to do?
Well you know there was a time when I was blessed by ignorance so I would discuss with Shri Mataji any question. And, even, a time when I interrupted Her in the middle of a puja, believe it or not. That was a puja in Germany, where She was making fun of men – “You know these men, let them run around like Kartikeya, you know being busy thinking they do something important, You know…” So I was getting a bit restless. So I said in the middle of the puja, you can hear it on the cassette… (I wouldn’t do this now, my head would just roll back, I would never do it now! Now I am just at attention and that’s it.)
But so, I asked, “Shri Mataji, is there any advantage to be a man at all?”
And then She said, “Yes, of course.” And She explained. Because you see, even the Adi Shakti, if She does the Creation, She does not do it for us, Her children. She does it for Him, in this case Lord Sadashiva. So somewhere, in the destiny of a woman, there is this dimension that, how should I say, she realizes something for somebody, let me put it that way. And so, that may be what you should do as a wife for your husband and so you will build up your husband and basically what happens is that if your husband achieves something, people will not see you but you are behind him. You give him comfort, sustenance. You give him emotional stability. You put in his Nabhi food that you have cooked with love. And it’s thanks to all that that he can achieve anything. So he may be the flower on Mother Earth, which glorifies Mother Earth, but you are Mother Earth, which brought this flower forth. So your achievement is that your man has achieved something because you know that you have done it for him. But feminism now is that “I want to do it for myself.” Then you have a sort of competition between the sexes and this is a competition where everybody loses.
Because in our program, success is not to compete, success is to complement. So I mean, brothers and sisters, if you are all sisters here and all brothers here, (referring to the seating arrangements with boys on one side and girls on the other side) it’s not that somebody is going to pinch somebody else.. That doesn’t happen in Sahaj.. rarely.. It’s because (turning to the girls) there is a coefficient among you of Shakti power. And here (turning to the boys) there is a male coefficient. And then, if you understand those maryadas, those principles start feeding each other. So the sisters become a protection to their brothers and the brothers become a protection to the sisters. And that’s the way it used to work, in Satya Yuga, the Golden Age. And in my opinion, sisters are very wonderful because, frankly speaking, you can only have one wife, and it’s probably enough, but you can have many sisters, and it is so nice. You can have many sisters. It’s great. It’s an absolutely amazing relationship.
