MEDITATION & GLOBAL TRANSFORMATION

PART TWO: THE STATE WITHIN

3. RETURN TO THE DYNAMICS OF CONSCIOUSNESS

Revolutionary thinkers of the past tried to change society without changing the individual. Mostly, they could not succeed. The neglect of the connections between Self, consciousness, nature and collective well being contributed to the destructive rise of the twentieth century’s ideologies. This is an area were we must rediscover the path of Socratic investigation, both at the individual and at the global level.

Meditation is not a successor to religions but it can, under the right conditions, represent an experimental expansion of consciousness, whose elements were announced in the divers languages and prediction of world religions (Advaita Hinduism, Taoism, Judaism, Jainism, Buddhism, Christianity, Islam or Sikhism).

Meditation isn’t either a successor to a code of ethics but a more inward controlled lifestyle shall contribute both to personal fulfillment and to a new Global Equity Equilibrium, calling for mutual understanding, compassion and tolerance, ethically driven policies, a more enlightened and equitable system of production, the valorization of hand made products and the respect for nature.
